Hello and welcome to Polco Connect, our online community forum!
As a Community member, you’re able to use this forum as a collaborative space to learn, grow, and share tips on using Polco, community engagement, best practices, and ideas for improving the platform with other Polco users and partners.
Ready to get started? Here are 5 steps to make sure you’re off to a successful start!
1. Complete your profile information
Let’s get to know each other in the Community. By adding additional information to your profile, you are more likely to build a stronger network, and receive better and quicker replies from other users.
In order to complete your profile information, navigate to "My Profile" (accessed by clicking your avatar) page
Click on your avatar next to “+ Create topic” to access your Profile page
Make sure to include:
-
A profile picture (you can add a picture of you or your organization’s logo)
-
A signature (feel free to add a link to your website!)
-
The city you live in
-
A little about yourself or your company
-
Your job title
2. Search before you start a new topic
It’s possible that you may have a question that another user has asked before you. To avoid redundancy in posts, we recommend that you search the community first before you start a new question or discussion thread. You can find the search bar at the top of every page in our community. If you are unable to find the information you are looking for, or if the question has not been answered yet, feel free to create a new question or conversation by hitting the “+ Create topic” button.
3. Don't be afraid to chime in
Sometimes new users can be hesitant to ask a question, start a discussion, or share their own experience. We strive to be an inclusive community for everyone who is interested in community engagement , and no question is too big or small to ask. If a reply or answer in a discussion thread is too technical or complex, don't hesitate to ask about it. Similarly, if you have an answer to someone else’s question, or can share your own personal experience, please share it. The most constructive conversations are the ones where we aim to inspire and educate fellow users around community engagement.
4. Find a group!
We have provided a number of private groups for you to engage with colleagues and communities who are focused on specific benchmark surveys and specific topic areas. We created private groups so that you can rest assured when talking about sensitive topics or results and ideate about next steps, you are doing so specifically with members of the group. If there is a group you’d like to see that we have not created yet, please reach out to let us know either by hitting the “+ Create topic” button in the forum or email us.
Important: Be sure not to post any personal information (including, but not limited to: phone numbers, home address, personal email address, etc.). Our groups are private, but remember that Polco Connect is a public community forum and anyone can view posts in the general forum. Moderators withhold the right to edit posts and delete any shared personal information.
5. Be detailed when you describe your question / issue
When you have a question or an issue, please try to include as much information as possible. This will help other users understand exactly what you want to know. Identify the specific area that your question is about, or at which step you do not know how to proceed. Feel free to further illustrate your question with images and videos in your post.
We’re so excited to have you join us!
