Accessibility Statement

Polco is committed to making tools to help all people have their voice heard as their community makes decisions. That is why we work to make our products accessible for people with disabilities. We continue to monitor and improve the accessibility of the tools we offer.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) describes requirements to help improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Polco is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. As of July 2023, all resident-facing portions of our software have been updated to be fully conformant to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Additionally, while our application encourages the use of best practices for user-supplied content, it can not strictly enforce this. Some users may upload images with text, for example.

In addition to WCAG 2.1 level AA conformance, we have also applied some level AAA standards:

  • Many actions on the site can be performed with only a keyboard.
  • Images of text are not used and we strive for high contrast between text and backgrounds.
  • There are no time limits imposed on the user, and no interruptions can occur during regular browsing, such as user re-authentication.
  • There are no flashing blocks of content.

Feedback and Responsiveness

We welcome customer and community feedback and take action promptly. For example, when someone contacts us with a small problem they encounter using a screen reader, we respond and address the issue promptly.
